The origins of Scaramuzza’s Pasta starts back in West Philadelphia in 1962 when Clementine DeLoggio ran the concession for the Italian Club at 49th and Lancaster Avenue. Born and raised in Abruzzo, Italy, she used the recipes of her family from her hometown of Rosetta. Clementine and her daughter, Mary, made the ravioli's by hand and cooked the food in her kitchen on 53rd and Girard Avenue where the whole family lived together in the city.

When Bob Scaramuzza was on the verge of adolescence in the early 1960s, and getting into a little trouble, his mother insisted to her husband and mother that they needed to move to the suburbs to keep her son out of mischief and give their four boys a better life.

Mary and her husband, Vincent Scaramuzza, moved to Clifton Heights, Pa. in 1964 where they bought the Clifton Heights location with the intention of Vincent opening a shoe repair store.  However, he was afraid of the competition of the Bazaar of All Nations shoe repair store across the street so Mary put a sign in the window to sell Pasta, and so it began…

Working alongside of his grandmother and mother, Bob Scaramuzza started working in the store when he was just 13 years old.  After he graduated high school from Cardinal O’Hara in 1971, Bob took on a full time position to help the company grow into what it is today.

It has now become a local "must have" for the past 60 years. Scaramuzza's Pasta products can be purchased at over 200 locations, including Colonial Village, Roy Tweedy’s, Altomonte's, ShopRite, Weis, Giant, Acme, Wegmans and a variety of other stores.
